My name is Katie Walczak also known as “Miss Katie”. I was born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky to a family who raised me in and around the water. I have now been living in the Denver area for almost 2 years to get closer to my love of the outdoors and to continue my passion of teaching children and adults to swim.
Around this time of year, many people look at themselves and make the decision to lose weight, build muscle, and eat better. With these goals in mind, many people just hit the gym and buy healthier food at the start, thinking they can motivate themselves to a complete overhaul of their lifestyle overnight only to run into the brick wall of burnout when they don’t see the results right away. Everyone can achieve the goal of a healthier lifestyle, but it takes planning and patience. Here’s several tips to help you along your way to success.
I have been a competitive swimmer since I was about 4 years old. Basically, swimming is in my blood and the life-skill of swimming is something that I deeply value. I am first time parent to an adorable baby boy who is almost 6 months old. Now that he is almost 6 months old I am ready to sign him up for a Parent-N-Me class. My excitement for him to get into the pool is off the charts! I mean…I cannot wait to see that little guy in the water! However, I have to admit that I am a little nervous. What if he doesn’t like it? What if he cries the whole class? What if the class time I picked is going to be when he is too sleepy and has a royal meltdown?
Does it get any better than that? Busy parents on a budget need all the help we can get sometimes to find a good balance of keeping little ones happy with what we put on the table and staying within a grocery budget. These are three of our family's favorites wallet friendly meals.
