At SafeSplash Sterling, we believe swimming is a life skill®, and that consistency is the key to a swimmer’s success in the water. When your child learns how to swim with us, they benefit from a curriculum that has been tested and proven over 12 million times in SafeSplash swim schools across the country. We even offer rolling start dates, meaning your swimmer can start at any time during the year.
Whether the goal is to develop lifesaving water safety skills, compete at an elite level or something in between, our kid’s swimming lessons are perfect for all ages and abilities. Every Sterling instructor is fiercely passionate about swimming, and our team is excited to take your swimmer from bubbles to butterfly®!
Swimming is not only fun and empowering, it’s also an essential life skill that will make your kids safer. Whether they’re splashing in a kiddie pool, perfecting their cannonball technique at a backyard party, or trying to catch waves at the beach, all Sterling kids can benefit from being stronger, safer swimmers.
But why is learning how to swim so important? Sadly, drowning is the leading cause of accidental death for kids under the age of 4. Swimming lessons equip kids with the skills and experiences they need to be safer around water.
Parent and child work together to develop the foundational skills crucial for learning to swim and promote safety in the water. (Starting at 4 months old to 3 years and have a student to teacher ratio of 6:1. A parent must get in the water.)

Our Beginner level classes (Beginner 1 - 4) are for swimmers ages 3+ and are designed for students with no swim experience to those working towards independent swimming. Swimmers start with learning the basic safety skills (blowing bubbles through the mouth and nose, front and back float, as well as the beginning arm and kicking movements for freestyle) and progress to independent freestyle, develop backstroke technique, and continue to build on water safety skills. Our small group classes are scheduled weekly on a perpetual basis (same day and time each week). Up to 4 students per class. Students are grouped by skill level and similar age ranges.
In our Intermediate class levels (Intermediate 1-3), swimmers continue building on their safety skills while developing their freestyle side breathing and backstroke technique (Intermediate 1). Swimmer progress to learning breaststroke and ultimately accomplishing the butterfly stroke (Intermediate 3).
In our Advanced level classes (Advanced 1 - 2) swimmers focus on improving technique and gaining endurance and develop competition skills such as advanced safety skills, turns, and streamlining. Our small group classes are scheduled weekly on a perpetual basis (same day and time each week). Up to 4 students per class. Students are grouped by skill level and similar age ranges.
Private lessons are available for all skill levels and are a great option for those looking to progress or refine skills quickly. Classes are typically scheduled on a weekly, ongoing basis.
Semi-private lessons are available for all skill levels and are a great option for siblings or friends to be in the same class. Classes are typically scheduled on a weekly, ongoing basis. Swimmers are typically required to book with their semi-private class partner.
When it comes to choosing swimming lessons, we know you have plenty of options. We also know exactly what young swimmers and their families need to have the best experience possible. Our warm water pools and small class sizes help SafeSplash stand out, but it’s our proven curriculum that has been designed by a team of world class swimmers and with the help of Olympic Champion, Missy Franklin, that ensures your child learns all of the skills they need to know. Our swim lesson program includes:
Right from the beginning, every SafeSplash Sterling student learns the basics of water safety and the correct way to swim. We believe swimmers need to develop swim skills that not only allow them to float, but to also move themselves to safety as confident, efficient swimmers. Having a correct, efficient swim stroke enables swimmers to move themselves out of potentially dangerous situations. As their skills increase, they’ll become more and more confident… both in the pool and in everyday life.
The lesson plans we use were developed by a team of world-class swimmers with over 30 years of teaching experience. We have 18 unique teaching levels that pair perfectly with our progressive teaching approach. Your swimmer will learn to swim at their own pace in a learning environment that emphasizes skill retention and having fun.
We offer infant and toddler swim lessons as early as 4 months of age to help build confidence and get your infant comfortable in the water. Our small ParentTot classes are a great way for parents to bond and socialize with their kiddos while teaching vital water safety skills like breath control, floating and kicking. We also offer Toddler Transition classes for kiddos ages 2-3 years. Parents join their swimmers poolside until they are ready to transition to a small group class without a parent nearby. Both classes focus on foundational water safety skills as well as developing a comfort in the water, which are crucial in developing swimming skills.
Whether you are just starting out, overcoming a fear of water or you are looking to refine your swim skills, our program gives adult swimmers at every level the opportunity to improve their skills. We offer a variety of class types for adults from small group classes to semi-private and private lessons. It’s never too late to learn this critical life skill. Our passionate instructors can help you overcome your fear and open the opportunity of enjoying the water.
Our private swim lessons allow swimmers of all ages and levels to progress through our curriculum at their own pace with one of our certified swim instructors. Each 30 minute class will be customized around mastering the skills to become a better, stronger, safer swimmer. Private and semi-private lessons (two swimmers with one instructor) are great options if you are looking for more time focused on your individual swimmer or siblings wanting to be in the same class.
Our swim camps are perfect for swimmers looking to jump start their skills by swimming with us on a more frequent basis. Lesson frequency and consistency (along with quality instruction and a world class swim curriculum) is a key element in progressing a student’s swimming ability. Our swim camps provide lessons multiple times per week and are typically 1 to 3 weeks in duration. We also offer stroke clinics where we focus on specific stroke techniques to refine our student’s skills.
The SafeSplash Wave® program is an endurance, strength, and swim team prep program that takes swimmers who already have knowledge of the competitive swimming strokes and want to refine their swimming skills. Our Wave program is broken up into swimmer groups based on swimmer ability, physical conditioning and current knowledge of the strokes in accordance to USA Swimming standards and our SafeSplash curriculum. Each session includes a set workout with an out of water coach whose primary goal is to mimic the experience one would have on a recreational swim team.
Our family open swim is a great time to practice swimming skills outside of lessons and have fun with the whole family. Our warm water pools make for a great way to spend the day splashing around and staying active. Practicing water safety and swim skills on a more frequent basis is a key to success in learning to swim. Plus, it’s simply fun!
