Darin Mai, OWNER

Darin has experience coaching at both the collegiate and USS level. Coach Darin has worked with swimmers who have gone on to become National level swimmers, as well as Far Western and Junior Olympic champions.

Coach Darin currently coaches Aquasol, competitive swim team and Union Mine High School. He also currently sits on the Board of Directors for Sierra Nevada Swimming and chairs the Technical Planning Committee. He is recognized both locally and nationally for his abilities to create great swimmers and great people.

Kristin Mai, Owner

Kristin Mai, M.S., OTR/L, is an occupational therapist who has worked with children for over 20 years and has experience in both the school and clinic settings. Kristin currently provides school based occupational therapy services to students with special needs. Kristin also enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and two daughters, loves running, and enjoys many other sports throughout the year.

OUR STAFF

Sophia loves swimming and being a part of the SwimLabs family! She has swam her whole life and started teaching swim lessons in 2015. After graduating from Loyola Marymount University Spring 2023 she has returned as an instructor as well as the SafeSplash On-Site Coordinator for the Rancho Cordova and Citrus Heights locations. Sophia enjoys spreading knowledge about water safety and teaching the life skill of swim!

Nicole works for our SwimLabs and SafeSplash locations. She swam competitively for 4 years and her favorite stroke is butterfly. She also works part time at Raising Canes. Nicole is a huge Disney fan and loves to watch movies and sing in her free time!

I am born and raised in Sacramento CA. One funny thing about me is I may look completely white, but I am Hawaiian, Filipino and Italian. I was very fortunate to grow up visiting family on the island of Oahu ever since I was young and became to fall in love with the ocean water and all types of water sports and activities. I started with SwimLabs as an instructor in April of 2023 and immediately fell in love with it. The smiles, laughter, watching the progression are what makes me enjoy doing this the most. Teaching the beginners, intermediates and advanced swimmers is just a great way for me to keep up on being a strong swimmer. I have worked in many different fields of jobs and I swear this one tops them all by far and I couldn't be more grateful!
