Swim Camps for Kids

At SafeSplash, we believe swimming is a life skill, and that consistency is the key to a swimmer’s success in the water. Frequency is also crucial, and swim camps are the perfect way for kids to get a jump-start on lessons. For more advanced swimmers, these swim stroke clinics offer an effective means of improving their swimming technique.

Our swim camps span one to three weeks and students meet several times during the week for 30 to 60 minutes at a time (the exact schedule will depend on the session you choose.) In contrast, our regular group swimming classes meet once per week throughout the duration of the program.

Whether your child’s goal is to develop foundational water safety skills, shave seconds off their race time by refining their swim stroke technique or something in between, enrolling in a swim camp helps swimmers reach their goals faster. Swim camp groups are also small, with 4 to 6 students per instructor.

Space in our swim camps is in high demand and is therefore typically quick to fill. If you have a specific date in mind, we urge you to enroll.

The benefits of swimming camps for kids

Swimming is fun and empowering. It’s also an essential life skill that will help protect your kids around water, whether they’re playing in a kiddie pool, perfecting their cannonball technique at a backyard party or splashing around in the ocean during a family vacation. Swimming lessons equip kids with the skills and experiences they need to be safer around water, and swim camps help them acquire those skills at a faster pace.

Swim camps make it easier for swimmers to refine through stroke technique, too. Our instructors have years of experience helping kids and adults refine their freestyle technique, backstroke technique, breaststroke technique, and butterfly stroke technique.

After swim camp, you can enroll your child in another camp, or one of our other programs. No matter which swimming program you choose, your child will learn from an experienced and enthusiastic instructor who loves teaching kids.

Swim camps vs. swimming lessons

SafeSplash swim camps aren’t the same as a traditional all-day summer camp — each lesson is 30-60 minutes long and we meet more frequently throughout the week.

Our Water Safety Curriculum

When it comes to choosing a swim camp, we know you have plenty of options. We also know exactly what young swimmers and their families need to have the best experience possible. Our warm water pools and small class sizes help SafeSplash stand out, but it’s our proven curriculum that ensures your child learns essential swimming skills:

  • A progressive curriculum focused on water safety, skill development, and proper swimming technique for the four fundamental swim strokes.
  • Experienced, passionate, SafeSplash Certified™ instructors who have completed extensive classroom and in-water training programs, along with a series of instructor-shadowing sessions.
  • Our commitment to match the instructor’s teaching style to the needs of each swimmer through our SafeSplash Match™ program.
  • Regular updates on your swimmer’s progress through our skill tracking, progress reports, and Splash-N-Tell program. With Splash-N-Tell, parents are invited to the last 8 minutes of class to talk with the instructor and let their child show off their new skills.

The lesson plans we use were developed by a team of world-class swimmers with over 30 years of teaching experience. Your swimmer will learn to swim at their own pace in a learning environment that emphasizes skill retention and having fun.

Our small ParentTot classes are a great way for parents to bond and socialize with their kiddos while teaching vital water safety skills like breath control, floating and kicking. We also offer Toddler Transition classes for kiddos ages 24-36 months. Parents join their swimmers poolside until they are ready to transition to a small group class without a parent nearby. Both classes focus on foundational water safety skills as well as developing a comfort in the water, which are crucial in developing swimming skills.

Adaptive Aquatics Lessons

Adaptive Aquatics Lessons

Swimming is a life skill for all and it can also have tremendous therapeutic benefits. Being in water can soothe sensory overload, provide relief from physical discomfort, and provide students with a sense of independence. In addition to teaching water safety skills, swimming lessons can also improve balance, coordination, strength, and range of motion. At SafeSplash Swim School we have a team of certified instructors with various training and experience in working with students with special abilities. We encourage meeting with you and your swimmer prior to starting lessons to discuss your goals and develop a customized teaching plan that meets the needs of your family.

Swim Team Prep

Swim Team Prep

The SafeSplash Wave® program is an endurance, strength, and swim team prep program that takes swimmers who already have knowledge of the competitive swimming strokes and want to refine their swimming skills. Our Wave program is broken up into swimmer groups based on swimmer ability, physical conditioning and current knowledge of the strokes in accordance to USA Swimming standards and our SafeSplash curriculum. Each session includes a set workout with an out of water coach whose primary goal is to mimic the experience one would have on a recreational swim team.
