Chris Wright and Dr. Stephanie Bays are the owners of SafeSplash Kansas City (Zona Rosa). They have been married since 2005 and have 3 children. Chris is a former daycare director and Stephanie is a pediatrician at Pediatric Care North since 2009. We are passionate about water safety and ensuring that children receive high quality swim lessons from an early age. Drowning is one of the leading causes of death in children. Prevention through standard safety measures around bodies of water, diligent supervision and high quality lessons can lower these risks. Water play is a great exercise activity and life skill. We aim to provide lessons for all ages and ability levels through group or individualized lessons as needed.

Charlie Lopez Silva , General Manager
I am from Los Angeles, California, and have been involved in aquatics since the age of eight. After a near-drowning experience at a birthday party, my mother taught me how to swim at the beach—an experience that sparked my lifelong passion for the water. Inspired by the Summer Olympics, I began self-training in water polo and joined a recreational team at age twelve. By fifteen, I was competing at the club level, achieving significant success as an athlete.
In high school, I competed at the varsity level in both water polo and swimming and participated in the Olympic Development Program (ODP) for water polo. Although financial limitations prevented me from continuing in ODP, I found purpose through lifeguarding and coaching, allowing me to remain connected to aquatics and give back to my community.
Over nine years in Los Angeles, I served as head coach for both club and high school water polo teams and coached varsity and junior varsity swim and dive for four years. During this time, I successfully trained athletes who advanced to national-level teams. In 2023, I relocated to Kansas City, Missouri, where I continue to share my passion for aquatics and focus on developing elite swimmers.
