Felipe

General Manager

Felipe, a native of Mexico. With a B.S. in Exercise Science from the University of Memphis, his lifelong passion for swimming has fueled a distinguished coaching career spanning two decades.

Felipe’s philosophy is centered on a passion for excellence, a heart for community, and a commitment to helping every swimmer grow both in the pool and in life. He guides and builds athletes to love the sport while achieving their goals—no matter how far they want to go. He is committed to creating an environment that encourages positivity and fun, while instilling self-confidence and consistently challenging athletes to reach their full potential.

Since 2005, he has guided swimmers of all ages and abilities, from beginners to National Level hopefuls. His extensive experience includes leadership roles with major swim programs, including:

  • Huntsville Swim Association (Assistant Head Coach)
  • Memphis Tiger Swimming (Associate Head Coach)
  • Germantown Swim Team (Head Age Group Coach)
  • Windyke Country Club Swim Team (Head Coach)

Equally important to him is the growth of the aquatic community. Coach Felipe believes every child and family should have access to the life-changing benefits of swimming—whether through competitive opportunities, recreational programs, or learn-to-swim initiatives. His mission is to expand access to aquatics across the area so that everyone, regardless of background or ability, has the chance to experience the lifelong skill of being in and around the water.

Felipe’s dedication is reflected in the success of his athletes, who have achieved impressive milestones, including Tennessee and Alabama state championships, junior national qualifications, and even Olympic Trial qualifications.

His expertise has been recognized, with five selections as a coach for the prestigious Southeastern Zone All-Star team (2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2025). He also served on the coaching staff for the 2016 Central Zone Diversity Camp and held a leadership position in LSC governance as the Age Group Chair for Southeastern Swimming. Beyond competitive swimming, he has contributed to community-focused initiatives, such as Sea Dragons, a program that works with underprivileged children to introduce them to the sport, build water safety skills, and provide growth opportunities both in and out of the pool. Currently living in Huntsville, AL he enjoys spending time with his wife (Brittany) and son (Scotty) in his down time.
