One of the most important attributes that define us and the quality of service we provide is our team. Every member of our team is hired because they have a unique set of experiences and skills that make them one of the best at what they do! That’s why you’ll see our team using #IAmSafeSplash on posts they make on social media. Simply put, SafeSplash Swim School - Aurora (Southlands) is defined by our people and our team is what drives the premium experience for you and your student. We urge you to stop in and get to know us all. We have a fantastic group of friendly faces that are truly the best and brightest from the communities of Aurora/Southlands.
Each one of our swim instructors is certified to teach/coach once they have completed an extensive classroom and in-water training program, a series of instructor shadowing sessions, and in-water instruction testing. In addition, all instructors and staff are CPR certified. All of our team members contribute to our parent’s blog, which features parenting and family resources, swimming tips, and personal experiences. Reading their blog posts is a great way to learn more about the perspectives that each of our instructors brings to the pool. Each instructor is unique and has a unique perspective on teaching our students, and all are the best in the industry!
Below are some of the biographies of our key instructors and management staff. You’ll notice that all of us have a story and interesting ties to our neighborhood. Please don’t hesitate to stop by our school and get to know our staff, any time.

Hello SafeSplash Families!
My name is Lya (lee-ah) and I am your General Manager at SafeSplash Swim Schools in Aurora. I have a 7+ year background in the aquatics world and I have been with SafeSplash for a few years now. I started my aquatics journey as a Lifeguard at the age of 16 lifeguarding at the LEGOLAND Waterpark in Florida. Soon I after jumped into the position of an Aquatics Manager right before the age of 18. I was born in San Juan-Puerto Rico and I am the daughter of a scuba diver instructor. I was introduced to ocean and swim pools at a very young age, since then I have developed competitive swimming skills and love for swimming. A ‘Fun Fact’ about me: I am Florida’s 2012 Girls Wrestling State Champion and top 6 in the Swimming Florida District Girls Finals 200 Yard Medley Relay in 2012. Growing up as an athlete has helped me become a great instructor, mentor, and coach not to mention it has helped me build lasting relationships with the families I love to serve!
The SafeSplash team has helped me grow as an instructor and professional. What I love about SafeSplash is that we all care about all our families and put the first. We strive to deliver the best swim lesson experience.

My name is Chris and I’m the Assistant General Manager here at SafeSplash Aurora/Southlands. I’m a native Kansan but have spent almost all my life here in Colorado, so this is home. I live in Castle Rock now with my wife & little girl and we couldn’t be happier to wake up every morning to the beautiful views of the Rocky Mountains. I have loved being in the water for all my life and still do, I got my first job in aquatics over twelve years ago & I have never gotten too far from the pool. I’m new to SafeSplash but excited to start my journey here and bring the magical moments I can recall from my time in the pool as a child to your children! I look forward to meeting you & your kiddos, so feel free to call in or stop by to chat any time!
