Deck Supervisor

Job Description

The deck supervisor is a lifeguard on duty. They are responsible for observing and patrolling the pool area, enforcing safety regulations as outlined in American Red Cross Lifeguard standards. Deck supervisors are also responsible for assisting swimmers in and around the pool area as well as swim instructors, as needed. Other duties include: efficiently managing swim class attendance, assisting swimmers from the lobby to the pool area, promptly keeping classes operating as scheduled, minor pool maintenance and upkeep and other duties as outlined by the management staff.

Responsibilities

- Maintain constant surveillance of patrons in the pool area; act immediately and appropriately to secure safety of customers in the event of an emergency.
- Provide emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services.
- Prepare and maintain appropriate incident reports.
- Present professional appearance and attitude at all times, and maintain a high level of customer service.
- The secondary focus is to guide the swimmers from the lobby to their classes in a timely manner as outlined by management. This will include making sure that the students are properly prepared for swim lessons.
- Efficiently manage daily class routines without taking away from class safety including: attendance, ribbon changes, swimmer needs, instructor needs and assist customers as necessary.
- Perform various duties as directed to maintain a clean and safe facility.

Qualifications

- Keep and maintain Red Cross Lifeguard certification, Red Cross CPR/AED certification for adult, infant and swimmer.
- Previous swim instruction experience is required.
- Must be able to successfully complete all lifeguard prerequisites to American Red Cross standards.
- Must be able to lift, push and pull up to 75 pounds.

Lifeguard

Job Description

Swim Instructor

Job Description

Have a passion for teaching and working with kids? Join our awesome swim family! SafeSplash Swim Instructors are responsible for upholding and teaching in accordance to the SafeSplash Swim School teaching certification and curriculum.

Responsibilities

- The main focus of a swim instructor is to teach swimming skills in accordance with  SafeSplash® curriculum in a fun, positive manner.
- Provide continuous, positive corrective feedback to students and customers on their swimming efforts.
- Structure class time appropriately to incorporate repetition, reinforcement, and introduction of required skills.
- Ensure swimmer safety.
- Maintain proper equipment and time organization to ensure timely class start times.
- Provide Deck Supervisor with class information (ribbons, student changes, etc) to keep proper class organization.
- Provide customers with monthly, individualized feedback on swimmers during Splash-N-Tell week.
- Maintain proper SafeSplash® uniform standards outlined in employee handbook.

Qualifications

- Special consideration given to instructors with experience teaching swimmers age 6 months to 10 years and Special Needs.
- Training in the SafeSplash® curriculum will be provided.
- Must be able to lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds in weight.

Level 2 Instructor

Job Description

The ideal candidate has a passion for swimming, stroke technique, and values continuous education. You must enjoy working with swimmers of all ages and abilities, from new swimmers to national level swimmers. You should have a welcoming, bright personality, professional appearance, is very well organized, punctual and has a positive can-do attitude.

Responsibilities
Duties include (but are not limited to):
  • Coaching and instructing triathletes, competitive and elite swimmers of all ages and abilities
  • Utilize and execute a session using "Dartfish Video Analysis" software
  • Participation in swim team days providing instruction & detailed video stroke analysis sessions
  • Participation in SwimLabs "Starts & Turns" Clinics - providing in-water guidance on effective racing starts and turns for competitive efficiency
  • Maintaining a clean working environment
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications (must have 2+ of the following):

  • A strong background in swimming- minimum of state qualifying time(s)  
  • Swimming at the collegiate level  
  • 5+ years experience coaching swim team  
  • 4+ years experience on a competitive swim team  
  • 5+ years experience coaching an adult/teen triathlon team
  • Competitive experience in triathlon and/or open water racing 

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Handles Pressure: can complete tasks in a busy environment

  • Welcomes visitors and clients by greeting them, in person or on the telephone; answering or referring inquiries.

  • Maintains safe and clean reception area and lobby, including restrooms, by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
