WHAT LEVEL SHOULD I ENROLL MY CHILD IN?

We also offer adult classes and classes for children with special needs.  For either of these options, please call our service center at 1-844-KID-SWIM.

Is your child comfortable in the water and has had swim lessons in the past?

Yes No

Level 1
Your child will learn to become comfortable in the water, and attempt basic skills (bubbles, face in the water, etc.). Child will also learn to float with assistance.

Has your student attended activities away from mom and dad? (daycare, gymnastics, etc)

Yes No

Level 1
Your child will learn to become comfortable in the water, and attempt basic skills (bubbles, face in the water, etc.). Child will also learn to float with assistance.

Can your student float independently on both front and back?

Yes No

Level 1
Your child will learn to become comfortable in the water, and attempt basic skills (bubbles, face in the water, etc.). Child will also learn to float with assistance.

Can your student swim 10 feet independently?

Yes No

Level 2A
Your child will become comfortable with going under the water, and begin working on floats, glides, and basic swimming with support.

Can they float and glide independently, and scoop and kick with pop-up breaths?

Yes No

Level 2B
Your child will master floats and begin "kicking and scooping" (pre-requisite to freestyle stroke). High 2Bs will learn "Big Arm Scoops" with pop-up breaths to progress into Freestyle side breathing.

Can they swim Freestyle with side breathing and have been exposed to Backstroke?

Yes No

Level 3
Your child will master "Big Arm, Side-breathing" (Full Freestyle). Kiddos will also be exposed to backstroke.

Do they know how to swim Freestyle with side breathing, swim Backstroke, know Dolphin Kick, and can tread water for one minute?

Yes No

Level 4
Your child will learn Backstroke to completion and begin to cover Dolphin Kick (to learn Butterfly).

Can they swim Breaststroke and Freestyle with alternate breating and flipturns?

Yes No

Level 5
Your child will refine Dolphin Kick, learn Breaststroke. Kiddos will also be introduced to Freestyle Flipturns.

Do they know Freestyle with Alternate Breathing, Backstroke, Butterfly kick, and Breastroke?

Yes No

Level 6
Your child will refine Breaststroke, and begin to cover Butterfly. Students will also learn Backstroke Flipturns.

Do they know and understand all four strokes (including Butterfly)?

Yes No

Level 7
Your child will finalize Butterfly and Backstroke Flipturns. Kiddos will also begin to be tested against the USA Swimming Standard Guidelines to pass the level.
Level 8:

Your child will soon master all four strokes and flipturns, according to USA Swimming Standards. Endurance building will be incorporated into lessons in preparation for swim teams.
