MEET
OUR TEAM

Taryn is a graduate from Folsom Lake College with an AA in Arts and Humanity. She is working at SwimLabs full time, while teaching dance on the side. She was on the Union Mine swim team her freshman through senior year of high school. Taryn jumped around and did a lot of different events, but ultimately decided that butterfly was her favorite stroke!

Karen was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. She is married with four children, two boys and two girls. Karen’s background comes from the corporate apparel field in sourcing and production.   

She has had a lifelong fear of swimming and now surrounds herself with it in daily life. All four of her children have taken lessons with SwimLabs and she currently has two swimmers on AquaSol’s swim team.  

If she’s not at SafeSplash you’ll find her volunteering in all her children’s activities, taking day trips, working out at the gym, dancing around to her favorite music, and exploring new places to eat!  She is excited to be part of the SafeSplash team and to support you with your swim journey!

Mikaela is a former NCAA DI swimmer and Honorable Mention All-American at San Diego State University. She competed in the 2012 U.S. Olympic Trials as well as numerous U.S. National events and NCAA Championships. After her own collegiate career, she spent a year coaching the University of Nevada Las Vegas Men’s and Women’s Swimming & Diving Team working with conference champions and NCAA All-Americans. Mikaela is also an English Teacher and has much experience working with swimmers of all skill levels and abilities. She has two children of her own (who also love to be in the water!), is a Dutch Bros fanatic and her favorite stroke is breaststroke.

Jadin recently moved back to California after graduating with her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from the University of Toledo in Ohio this past May. Jadin has always loved working with children and is pursuing a career in pediatric nursing. She hopes that she can provide a safe and welcoming environment for you and your family while you are a part of the SafeSplash family! While she doesn't have experience coaching, she has been around water her whole life and understands how great this sport can be for growing kiddos and even beyond. She is so excited to be a part of the team!

Sophia loves swimming and being a part of the SwimLabs family! She has swam her whole life and started teaching swim lessons in 2015. After graduating from Loyola Marymount University Spring 2023 she has returned as an instructor as well as the SafeSplash On-Site Coordinator for the Rancho Cordova and Citrus Heights locations. Sophia enjoys spreading knowledge about water safety and teaching the life skill of swim!

Bryson competitively swam for 4 years and loves being in the water. He believes that swimming is an important and necessary life skill. He is excited to be able to pass on his love for swimming to others!

Nicole works for our SwimLabs and SafeSplash locations. She swam competitively for 4 years and her favorite stroke is butterfly. She also works part time at Raising Canes. Nicole is a huge Disney fan and loves to watch movies and sing in her free time!

Amanda was born and raised in Alameda. She swam competitively for Alameda High School and played waterpolo as well. She has been swimming since she was six years old. She has been teaching children and adults not only swimming, but also dance. Amanda works at the Rancho Cordova SafeSplash location!
