My name is Katie Walczak also known as “Miss Katie”. I was born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky to a family who raised me in and around the water. I have now been living in the Denver area for almost 2 years to get closer to my love of the outdoors and to continue my passion of teaching children and adults to swim.
Around this time of year, many people look at themselves and make the decision to lose weight, build muscle, and eat better. With these goals in mind, many people just hit the gym and buy healthier food at the start, thinking they can motivate themselves to a complete overhaul of their lifestyle overnight only to run into the brick wall of burnout when they don’t see the results right away. Everyone can achieve the goal of a healthier lifestyle, but it takes planning and patience. Here’s several tips to help you along your way to success.
It can be difficult to hand your child over for lessons (of any kind!). As a swim instructor for many years, I can offer these few tips to help with struggles you may encounter as a parent.
The days are getting shorter, the leaves are changing, the weather is cooling down and so is your summertime momentum to do all the fun things you were doing just a few weeks ago. You awake to a chilly morning, go to work and by nightfall, where has all your energy gone? As the Fall and holiday seasons approach we have to be mindful, now more than ever, of staying fit even when we don’t want to. I for one get lazy when it’s cooler outside so here are some ways to keep active during these trying times until we are able to relax and take in the warm weather again.
