Keep your kids active this fall

As our summers start to fade and our focus begins to turn to the impending school year, I ask you how will your child stay active this fall? As we all know it is difficult to find a balance of school, homework and play. Between sitting at a school desk all day, then coming home and completing homework, how will your child be getting the physical and mental stimulation they need? As your children grow older, the activities they currently participate in will begin to shape their lives and passions as an adult. At SafeSplash Swim School, our mission is to help children nationwide learn the basic swimming and water safety skills that will serve them throughout their lifetime. This mission is something the SafeSplash management team feels strongly about. Growing up in Colorado, all of us participated in local swimming lesson. Our parents proudly took us (some of us kicking and screaming) to weekly swimming lessons, not knowing what the pay off might be. Now as adults, our parents are hard pressed to find us far from the water. I set out to find out how the management team enjoys doing that is water related while taking some time to unwind. Here is what everyone had to say:

I, Jenn Hoard (General Manager Lone Tree) went Scuba Diving in Cozumel and am learning to sail.

Jaime Zilververg (General Manager Aurora) had only this to say, I really like scuba diving but now that my parents don't take me on vacation anymore I like teaching my kiddos at SafeSplash. While challenging at times it is awesome to see when progress is made!' I love giving back to a sport that gave so much to me.

Karissa Gerrard (Director of Marketing and Operations) enjoyed a white water rafting trip and going to the pool

Heidi Adderly (Assistant General Manager Lone Tree & Aurora) enjoys snorkeling and playing with her daughter at the pool.

Lindsey Starkovich (MOD Sr. Instructor Lone Tree) spent her summer on the lake boating and tubing.

Lisa Houck (Manager 24Hour fitness) in addition to coaching the local masters team, she enjoys scuba diving and water skiing.

Brett Carlson (MOD sr. Instructor Aurora) likes taking float trips and spending time at the pool.

Christine Badger (Registration Associate) will be spending a week at Lake Naccona sailing, jet skiing and boating this fall.

What do you and your children enjoy doing to stay active? Email us at moreinfo@safesplash.com and tell us what you like to do.

If you are looking for something for your children to do this fall, may we suggest something swimming related? You may find they enjoy participating in swimming lessons, swim camps or stroke clinics. You never know what doors swimming will open in the future.
